My story

After studying English and Classics at Robinson College, Cambridge, Jennifer taught English and Drama for twenty years in various schools including in Bradford, Paris and Derbyshire. 

Feeling the urge to write in her early 40s, Jennifer took an MA in Creative Writing for Children and Young Adults at Manchester Metropolitan University. She was then mentored at the Golden Egg Academy.

Her debut YA novel, Igloo, was published by Beaten Track in Nov 2022; her second, Happiness Seeker was released in Nov 2023. Igloo won the  grand prize at Eyelands International Book Award, 2023. Happiness Seeker was short-listed for the Rubery Book Award, YA/Children's category in July 2024.

When not reading or writing, Jennifer enjoys spending time in the mountains or by the sea and with her growing family.
